Raining on Prom Night

Well, the firstborn is off to Prom with his sweetheart, and the other male Mumbys are at game six of the hockey playoffs (they're up 3-2 over Port Huron). I should be working on graduation announcements and stuff, but this is more fun.

In case I don't finish the announcements in a timely fashion, here's the gist: he's graduating on Sunday, May 31, at 4 pm. His open house will be on Saturday, May 30, from 2-5 pm. All are welcome, of course, but if you can't make the trip to this side of the state for some silly reason or another, you have a second option for in-person congratulatory-type festivities at Erika's open house, which I believe is scheduled for June 20.

And in case I haven't mentioned it yet, he's moving into the dorms at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden on August 21. We'll be driving him out there, and maybe swinging by the grand canyon "on the way". (yes, dad, I know it isn't really on the way - but it's so close!)

A quick update on Jon's sweetie, Danielle - she is recovering nicely from her badly sprained ankle, and is back at tennis practices again. She called me yesterday to say she had just won two challenge matches in a row, her first day back after the injury. (Yes, she called ME! She knew Jon was at his track meet, but she was so excited she had to tell someone, and she picked me. Aww...) She's graduating on the 31st, too, and will be heading off to Michigan State in the fall.

TTFN!

listen mumby clan mom, if I could remember how to post, other than anonomously, I would. Thanks for the phone call, the picture of the happy little couple is so cute. I hope they have a good time at the prom.. It brings back happy memories of Poppa Bear's senior prom, and all you-all's proms. Good times, happy memories.

love, momma bear.

Who is that handsome fella in that picture???!! And you're sayin' he's smart too?
Well done sis, well done!!
If I had a way to scan it I'd post it, but I ran across a picture of him on my shoulders out by the chicken coop at the Bears' manse and if memory serves, he's on my shoulders cuz he's a might taken aback by the chickens. He's 2-ish? Anyway, clearly he was wise beyond his years as we all know how mean Pappa's chickens can be sometimes.
And now he's headed off to college in a way far away place. Wowser. My how the time does fly.
I, for one, can't wait to come visit him.....
