EVS has a question.....

So I'm putting together my packing list for adventure race this coming weekend and I wondering what the best food might be for during the race. I'm trying to steer clear of the commercial goo packs that but I'm not sure what else will work. I expect to be racing for about 5 hours, so I'll have to eat something. Do any of you have any wisdom to share?

Why are you steering clear of commercial stuff? Espresso Love Gu is sometimes my sole motivation for working out. Best advice I have for you though: do what worked during training.

I already sent this EVS, but I'll put it here too;
Natures perfect food: Peanut M&M's! The WoodButcher knows. They have it all: protein and sugar. What else do you need?

By the way RiderX, did you re-invite EVS to join this blog so he can post here? He claims that he didn't get, doesn't have, or whatever, the invite to join.

This is Tango. T-flo and I are "sharing" my computer so all the settings are set irrevocably to her stuff.
Anywise: First of all, Good Luck! In my limited racing career, any race is an adventure, so an 'Adventure Race' will be E-P-I-C. As far as the food--If you don't like it, you won't eat enough, so whatever it is ya gotta like it. I'm not a big fan of the gels and gu's, partly cause they tend to weaponize the copious amounts of methane they produce, but they're easy to eat, easy to carry, and are very dense nutritionally. I use them when I race for the latter reasons, but eat Clif bars when I'm "training" (riding) for the former reason. Just be sure to drink lots of water or Gatorade or whatever, especially if you eat the Gu. And follow the 2 most important Racing Rules: No Injuries; Most Fun Wins.

As far as Teh Dadiator not getting an invite-him's wife the Momitor did (2 years ago) but I'm sure that RiderX has already sent another and that the subsequent avalanche of Dadiator posts will crash the server at the headquarters in a non-descript industrial park in Skokie.

And Finally: Rider: The video was titled 'Tunnel falls'. As in it's a tunnel and it falls. Get it? Not that it's not obtuse nor not pedantic nor funny. Anywise...
