I May Never Play the Violin Again

I've been trying to come up with a good story, but there just isn't one. I slipped on the ice (despite wearing winter boots with big tread) while I was out salting the porch, and now I have a cracked right wrist. It's been a week and a half, and it's getting a little better. I can now type with both hands, use my curling iron, and even pick up my mug with my right hand. Doorknobs and jar lids continue to be a problem, however, and I still have to lean way over and start the car with my left hand.

This little mishap put me in a great frame of mind for working on our taxes and all the college financial aid applications that are due this week. Two of the colleges Jon applied to require not just the FAFSA, but the CSS profile as well. Most of you are probably familiar with the joys of the FAFSA, but in case you've never filled out a CSS profile, this SAT-style analogy might help: FAFSA is to CSS as Prostate Exam is to Colonoscopy. One of the colleges even required us to answer a series of "supplemental" questions at the end of the CSS. Can they possibly care how many pairs of shoes I own and how much Tim pays for his haircuts?

I've reached my limit for pain-free typing. TTFN!

Sorry to hear about ye broke paw. You gotta cast n everything? At least you found the silver lining and are getting yer taxes and colonoscopy done. Is there a question on the CSS about salted porches or fractured wrists?

Get better soon, sister. TTFN?

"Ta-ta for now" (Christopher Robin). Just a brace, which is nice - I can take it off to shower. I think it must be just a little crack.
