I'm Rider X and I approved this message

Ok, so I’m waiting (patiently or otherwise) to get tired enough to stop thinking about my upcoming trial to be able to fall asleep. This is especially hard when I’ve been unable to wear myself out with a nice long workout, thanks to my continued leg issues. Leg? hip? hamstring? calf?… who really knows for sure? {Doctor Schmoctor. Natch.} Alls I knowz fer surely (Shirley?) is the tightness in the back of my knee has been so bad it wakes me up at night. So much so that I’ve taken the last 2 days off. As in, ALL the way off. (Well, ok, I tried to ride last night but 10 minutes in the leg said no. And by "no" I mean it said: NOoo! What are you, sum kinda idjit???!)

But, I just checked the weather and I’m going to try to ride to work tomorrow.

‘posed to be like dis here on the morrow:

HIGH 33
LOW 17

Early snow then becoming partly sunny and breezy. Chilly with highs 10 degrees below normal. West winds at 10-20 m.p.h.

Yep. Spring has Sprung in this here miserable-excuse-for-weather city wherein I reside. It's not just good, it's good enough.

On the telly as I write: Torch Song Trilogy. Harvey Fierstein cracks me up. Unbelievable, somehow, that it was made in 1988. Twenty flippin' years ago. The more things change the more they stay the same? Or not? Anyway, Anne Bancroft is priceless. Matthew Broderick looks like he’s 12. The one line that always stuck with me from it is a ways off yet: Anne (Ma): You cheated me out of your life and then blamed me for not being there. {Ouch}.

HA! This just in.... the scene where Harvey whimiscally remembers a radio dedication to him. Momma B, These Boots are Made for Walkin'... Nancy Sinatra... ring a bell? Too too funny.

Oh my, Anne's last line: "You just have to learn to live with conflict, after all a problem is NEVER as bad as the solution." Truer words have nary been spoke.

Ok, I'm sweeeeeepy. G'night all.

So sorry to hear that you're not feeling up to snuff (whatever that means), but you'll be happy to know that the weather is looking pretty promising for next weekend. I've got my eye on Waynesville NC, near to the southern terminus of the BRP and a little west of (H)Asheville. Low 60's, at least that's what they're saying now. The Parkway is supposed to be extra hilly and tunnelly down there. But of course we can always go elsewhere or nowhere, depending on weather and leg/neck/back/ear/eye/nose/throat conditions.
Speaking of which, Nomas and I ventured out for our Regularly Scheduled Tuesday ATT ride in what was supposed to be a two hour lull in violent T-Storms, Heavy Rain and High Winds. It was a 30 minute lull, which proved disastrously inadequate to the requirements of a 9O minute ride. Verry, Veerrry Wet. But it was 65 degrees, so hypothermia never set in. But wet? Pretty much very wet. Plus a gust almost blew me over almost. Fun times.
And I hesitate to say this, but I don't think I've seen Torch Song Trilogy cover to cover. I'll get on that right away soon. Angels in America covers the same time period, but not so funny, as I remember.
Get better for Cripe's Sake. We got some Parkway to shred.
