All my eggs in one basket

One very fast basket, as a matter of fact. We drove out to St. Louis this weekend to buy a car from Tim's dad. It's a 1991 Firebird, in very good condition. I keep teasing Mr. Mumby about buying a hand-me-down mid-life crisis, but he doesn't think it's very funny.

So anyway, there we are, cruising down the highway, the elder Mumbys leading the way in a rented Jetta, and the whippersnappers following in the Firebird. I was more than a little uneasy with the arrangement, as I'm sure you can imagine.

So imagine a sudden hard downpour in the middle of the afternoon. I look back and see that the Firebird is virtually invisible without its headlights on, so I call the boys. The co-pilot(wearing some really cool sunglasses)answers, and I can hear my young driver screaming that he can't find the headlights, and that the windshield wipers won't go fast enough. I can also see the semi truck trying to merge right next to my rain-blind son in his invisible car, and the steady line of traffic moving past in the left lane. Then they all disappear in the pouring rain.

Needless to say, they came through it just fine and everyone made it home in one piece, or you'd have heard about it before now. Still, it was a heartstopping sort of moment.

Momma bear, I'll be hunting down collared gold shirts for the whole mumbyclan ASAP!

Alright, that's just cruel!
Don't you have any normal size photos, and from other angles? And what about the specs? Is it stock, what motor, how many miles? Where's Tim? We need details!

Oh yeah, glad to hear the young ones made it too.

91 Firebird, 8 cylinder, 5ish L engine, I think, 110,000 miles or so, NOT a t-top, much to everyone's chagrin. Just a few little spider-webby cracks in the bumpers, otherwise in excellent condition. Tim is out of town, but I'll see if he can post more pictures and better details.
