WHEN: August 23/24 through August 30/31 (with the official party being held on the actual anniversary day: August 30th.)
WHERE: The Hocking Hills Area, Ohio
LODGING: In order to figure this out, we need, from EVERYONE (except Mama & Papa), the following information ASAP, but by no later than January 5, 2008:
- What dates you plan to need lodging in the Hocking Hills Area;
- Your preference in terms of lodging type (tent camping, motor home/trailer/popup facilities, cabin, big shared house, small house, or hotel/lodge)
Once we get this info, I think the best next step is to circulate the results and let people decide how they want to proceed in terms of securing the appropriate facilities for each family. T-flo and Lil Lotto have gotten some leads on house rentals, including big houses and smaller ones (i think) and from that investigation, it appears that time is of the essence.
So, let the herding of the cats begin....

now that all the feasting is over and the fasting is beginning as we look in the mirror, I, Mamma Bear, want to tell all of you what a great good time I had having you all here (Nomas, I hope to meet you in person one of these days). The house is getting itself back in shape slowly and we are unearthing a few odd things that obviously belong to other people.
a pink bath towel.
a card with pictures of two brothers who are as cute as can be.
a stainless steel mug
a hank of yarn (being mailed on Wed.)
henna and sculpey clay
a small mint green nozzle that looks unimportant, but hard to replace if it is important.

T-Flo and myself will be there for the duration. We will probably be pulling the pop-up for overflow use by up to six assorted Schrandlings. But as for us add-ults, we're in favor of one Central House big enough to fit everyone for group meetings, training sessions, costume balls, Texas-Hold-Em Tournaments and so on and enough Satellite Houses to sleep everyone and to allow for some privacy, down time, How-Am-I-Supposed-To-Nap While-Everyone's-Playing-Poker Space and It's-2a.m.-Enough-With The-Rummi-Kubes-Already Room. A pool would be nice, too. And we can be flexible in terms of making room for those who aren't staying the whole week and don't want to do a weekly rental for 3 days or whatever.
If the towel is small and hot pink, it is Jon's gym towel. If the stainless steel mug has half a public radio logo on the side, it's mine (and where was it? I looked everywhere I could think of!) Nothing else sounds familiar. We'll be in town in a few weeks, so if you can stash it for us until then, that would be great.
Lil Lotto and I share the majority of Tango's comments: we're in for the duration barring unforseen/catastrophic event, and prefer a "main" house and as many satelites as needed, preferrably within walking distance. But, the place we looked at so far does NOT allow pop-ups/campers/tents at the houses, so no need for the camper T/T-flo. But, we're fine with having as many share a space as possible and there are several 2-4 person cabins at the that place, so that may work either in addition or instead.... Once the other counties are head from, we can look into that. Thanks all.
I stated this in a comment above but felt I should answer directly to the question. I as well am planning on sticking it out the entire week. I would like to, maybe, bring Ian my boyfriend if he's still around :)- he'd fit right in with us!
