Didn't get in a ride last night due to a work related {minor?} injury. Something about paying insufficient attention to the height of the ladder I was climbing off: Auto-pilot had me on my regular 4-foot, reality had me on a 6-foot, and what was supposed to be a normal last step to the floor of this garage turned into a completely different type of step. When the ground wasn't where it was supposed to be I did the slow motion falling backstroke across the garage for about 3 strokes and landed somehow with road rash on my left elbow. Cursing my carelessness I dusted myself off and went back to work replacing carriage lights on the garage. Did some other stuff, loaded the truck, et cetera et cetera et cetera, went home, walked over to J's and we went to find batteries for her watches and my bike light, came home, getting ready to go on our }with Nomas{ Friday Night Lights ride and my left wrist starts complaining. Twenty minutes later, as we're ready to head out the door I recognize that my left hand is unable to grip anything [like the front and only brake lever on my klein] without far too much discomfort even for a 'Tamer. Nomas recently suffered from a similar malady, his the result of a late night, frisky cat induced, door-to-hand collision. So he was quite empathetic and we turned our attention from riding to video production, html editing, and medicinal malt beverage consumption. Repeated applications of ice and Vitamin I have alleviated much of the discomfort, but work today is contra-indicated.
Not nearly enough riding got ridden this week. For a change. And the weather was spectacular, particularly for mid-December. Rode to the gym Monday [3 mile Round Trip]. Road the 'Merican 'Bacco Trail with Nomas on Tuesday [20ish miles]. Did a little try-athalon on Thursday: Rode to the Duke Cross Country Trail, ran 4 miles, rode to the gym, lifted weights and did some core work and 30 minutes of stretching, then rode the Long Way Home [20 miles riding, 4 miles running, about 6 tons lifted].
And yes, you skeptics, you doubters, you were correct: Last night's video post was all Nomas. He was director, director of photograghy, editor, web consultant, and beer bottle opener. So thanks, Nomas. But this one was {almost} all the result of my mad new techno-skills and concombinant geekhood.
