Edamame Seeds

I came across this picture of the new 3 stoooges, and thought it was kinda nice.
In my search for soy bean seeds, I ran across Dr. Bernards name, and b.b.b. sent him an email, and he sent me 8 packets of seeds, at his cost. I thought some of the other gardeners might like to try them out. It seems like a great deal, and a great legume to grow. Thanks to rider-x for the taste of them in the pod, we'll be able to get you some in the fall.. all organic and everything. The other cool thing with these is they are true breeding, self pollinating, so you can save seeds of the ones you like.

Thanks Butch!
I just ordered/requested some seeds. By the way, I picked a dozen more asparagus spears yesterday. Still none of the Purple though.

Welcome to our little corner of web, W Butch.

The picture... I don't get it. Sorry. I mean I do, sort of. But not really. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the edemame during your visit. More glad that you'll be growing me some... and organic no less. Schweet!! Plus, ya just gotta love some of the names of the edemame choices you have for we 'Tamers. Lucky Lion? Ohhailyea! White Lion? Yeeaaahbaby. Beer Friend? Well who isn't? MmmMmm Good! Please put me down for 3 pounds of an assortment of said varietals, thankyouverymuch.

Now how 'bout some pics of a tennis player or 3?

WoodB droppin' a post. Phabulous! Keep 'em coming.

Soybeans. In the pod. Hot and salty. A good food that's good for you. Will it be possible to maintain the genetic purity of the new seeds if they are growing in a field of round-up ready plants? I've heard they've found pollen from Genetically Modified corn way up in the Andes or some remote-ass area of Mexico where they thought it would take a century for the GMO to arrive. Conversely, will the non-GMO plants contaminate the round-up readiness of your Brother-in-Laws crop? Or What?

I did ask those question of Dr. Bernard. And crazy enough, he sent a note with the packets of seeds answering those. firstly, the roundup ready beans will not cross pollinate, because of the self fert. feature of most legumes (remember Mendel's peas). so they will be true breading. His other comment/answer, was be careful of drift, because these are not rr. So it won't be long before we are taking orders for edam. in the pod. and these are my type of plant, all beans ready on one day, no long maintaining, and picking small batches.
