Those are what I am on waiting for the results from last weekend's MTB race over to Yanqui Springs. Another gold medal for liontamers local 476? A DFL? What? Whaat???
Elsewhere: it has come to my attention that a day of great moment has come and gone without any formal recognition from this site. This shameful and revoltin' development cannot be rectified without a flux capacitor and a DeLorean, but I feel sure I speak for all Liontamers when I belatedly wish the happiest of Happy Birthdays to our very own Lil Lotto. I knew you were born in April, Lil 1, but I thought it was somewhere in the 20's, not the teens. Imagine my chagrin (if you will) upon discovering my error. Hope you did something fun and meaningful together with whatshername who couldn't be bothered to post on the 13th.

By all means, Happy Birthday. However, being a Schrand and all, birthdays, or any other 'personal' type holidays for that matter, are typically not acknowledged, much less celebrated, unless there is a particularly important milestone (50 yr anniversary, say), or other such circumstances apply. So, I feel totally relieved of any guilt whatsoever, as I believe, should any 'Schrand'.
But happy birthday anyway... seriously!
As for the race...
Well, without going into too much detail, kelsey did not participate. She said if none of her relatives would be there to support her this time, what's the use.
Really, her VB tournament got moved to Sunday, and the decision was made to go to that instead of race on a BEAUTIFUL day here in MI. They took second in their pool, and lost in the first round of the gold division.
She did tell her coach that next time, she'll be racing.
Happy Belated Birthday, Lil L.! Sorry we missed it, (But like K-dave, I feel confident that you were not counting on our good wishes to make your day.) Hope it was a great one!
You mean you didn't even go??!!! WheW! Good thing I didn't take advantage of Li'l's napping while we were driving back from Mt. Pleasant and sneak over to Yankee Springs (which would have gone against a direct order to go directly home so she could work) to check on little k. I'da been a bit bummed to find no 'tamers to cheer for. But, congrats on the vb touney. Oh, and speakin' o' Li'l Lotto, yes, I failed to note her b-day here. However, firstly, it seems to me that at some point, noting that yet another year has found itself {inexplicably} in the rearview mirror may not always be worth the time to publically annouce it's coming and going, if you get my drift. Secondly, I did think about it, so I get SOME points, right? Thirdly, one of the things I was going to post is the (sad but) true fact about some of the famous people born on her (and my - because in the end, it is all about me, right??!) birthday. Namely, the fact that also sharing 4-13 would be none other than Tony Dow. As in Tony Dow the actor. As in, Tony Dow the actor who played Wally Cleaver. As in Beaver Cleaver's big brother on the show Leave it to Beaver. Wanna know who was also born on MY birthday? Yep - Jerry Mathers. As in, the Jerry Mathers who played Beaver CLeaver on Leave it to Beaver. And guess who watched that show FAITHFULLY after school for at least a year (usually while eating an apple with peanut butter on it). Me, that's who. And in conclusion, I'll be posting soon (I hope) with some graphic demonstrations of what Little Miss S. has been up to of late. So there.
P.S. It should also be noted that 4-13 was also Grandma Schrand's birthday. She would have been 110 last Sunday, if I'm not mistaken. So, in her honor... the part she always added to our dinner prayer...
Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
Whoa. Did you say on your way back from Mount Pleasant? Okay, so I was kidding about the folks stopping in on their way to the Smokies, but Muskegon is pretty much between MP and Chicago!
But if you're too busy...
