So... Rider X commented that it's been a tad quiet on the blog of late. I'm guilty of checking in several times a week to see what's been posted, but not quite making the time to comment or post. I've been too tired (aren't we all?), or too late (somebody else already said what I was thinking) or too boring (the two main posters do set the bar pretty high, and make it seem effortless, as well). So how about a quick show of hands. Are you reading the blog? Take two minutes to "comment" on this post with the date and time of your visit.
The pictures have been great, Poppa and Tango. Great to hear from you, K-Dave.
W-butch, I bet you're happy this year that number-one daughter didn't make her appearance until January of 1991. My own firstborn preceeded her by just enough that he no longer qualifies for the $1,000 child tax credit, or for the stimulus payment, either. What are our elected leaders thinking, anyway? Do our kids suddenly not require any financial support when they get to be sophomores or juniors in high school? As for the stimulus payment, who better to get the money than a bunch of teenagers? They'd be the most likely to run right out and spend it!
Okay, that's all for now. Don't forget to raise your hand if you're here!

But it's such a pain in the butt to have to sign in, write a comment, hit the wrong button, watch in horror as your comment disappears forever, re-write the comment, hit the right button, have the comment not show up on the blog, go to work, come home, start the process all over again. Takes WAY more than two minutes. At least it did yesterday when it happened as I was trying to leave a comment about k.'s race report. And yet. I'm here Thursday, 7:30 am.
Peace. Out.
I'd rather not say how often I check this silly thing. Seeing as how I have it set up to send me an e-mail whenever anything gets posted (or commented on), and seeing as how I can check my e-mail via my cell phone, let's just leave it at somewhere between borderline obsessive-compulsive and slightly neurotic. {Whhhaaaat?}
Oh, and in response to T’s comment, if people don’t want to take the time to sign in (which can be a pain when google thinks you’ve typed your name or your password wrong but really you haven’t, which happens to me pretty often) you can just hit the anonymous option then put your handle at the end of the comment. Just an idea.
I'm here maybe two or three times a week, from work, usually at lunch time. Dial up from home is just too slow for this sort of thing.
baker44 cant figure out how to post and she normally checks it once daily but doesn't post because it is fairly challenging to run a classroom and respond.
I check a couple of times a week, but as peep said, don't always feel up to the challenge of something witty and interesting. i do enjoy many of the items...
from the butcher
I check the blog a few times a week. I like to leave pictures mostly because I don't like writing. Pictures are good. I like those.
How come you are all so funny and clever and I'm such a plodder.
Where did you get it from? You all fell pretty far from my tree, I'll tell you. Anyway, whining aside, we visit often and I hope with Poppa Bear's help this goes on to it's appointed place, and you will all see for yourselves that we both think this is a great little invention.
See, Rider, it's not as quiet as you think around here! This is an amazing little tool for keeping in touch, and I'm really glad you started it for us.
