Hearing no response

Okay... I'm busy too people, so this is gonna be short. Other than "not it" I got zilch, zip, nada, nuttin' in the way of volunteers for the coveted position of head cat herder, although Tango did assist with a little phone/internet conference call, which is when we found this place: http://www.topothecaves.com/luxury_cabins.html; also available here: http://www.topothecaves.com/. (For the later site, be careful; the music has been shown to cause migraines in lab rats.)

I've put a deposit down on the following:

1. the Acorn (Luxury) Lodge for August 24-31 (total, with tax is $1,823)
(intended users: Mama & Papa Bear; Tango & T-Flo; me & Li'l Lotto)

2. The Lodge for Aug 28-31 (total$1,342)
(intended users: KubotaDave et al, Mumbyclan, Woodbutcher and Baker44 + kids)

3. the Hickory (Luxury) Lodge (aka the peanut free lodge) from Aug. 28-31 (total $662.51)
(intended users: Momitor et al)

Keys: all within walking distance of each other. There's a pool. There's tent camping available on site, if needed.

I've put down a little over 7 bills by way of (refundable) deposit... so speak now, or don't. If you can do better, please do. Really. I mean that. I won't be offended. But I won't have time to deal with this for the next several weeks due to work, so, ugh, go to it kids.

Looking forward to it . . .

Over-n-out,

X

Thanks for all your hard work. I'm not crazy about the color scheme in one of the bedrooms in the "Acorn", but, I guess, ya know. Whatever. If that's the best you can do.

My only real question has to do with the dates. Eight nights [Sunday night to Sunday night]? Eight nights is cool, but what about Saturday night through Saturday night, so the first Saturday and the last Sunday are travel days instead of Sunday and Monday? Leaving Sunday could be an issue, depending upon what we do Saturday night for the big celebration, whatever form that takes. Just spitballin' here.

Sorry you're so slammed at the office. At least you're not missing anything like good riding weather. We have an inch or two of slush predicted for today, consequently there isn't a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk to be had in benighted burg. Bless it's heart.

The Sunday to Sunday is check in on Sunday, check out the following Sunday (morning). So travel days, I think for us at least, would, under this plan, be Saturday and/or Sunday on the front end, then the return trip would be, I suspect, a straight thru drive on Sunday. Keep in mind we're talking about Labor Day weekend, so, I figured that way, we will all have Sunday as a travel day, and Monday as a regroup day before going back to work. I'm sure it's changeable, if we do it soon, if thats what everyone wants.

Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

We always knew you were a great cat herder, sis! The cabins look wonderful. I'd be willing to condense a little if everyone is willing, though. The lodge sleeps 20, and can be divided into separate units (it has three kitchens, even!) I will check with Tracie to see if having her own apartment in the lodge as a nut free space will be enough. Will Shizzle and co. be using the extra bedroom in the all-week lodge? And when do you need some money from us?

Mumby Mom:

1) there's no extra bedroom in the weeklong house... there's 3 bedrooms, which would be 1 per couple. I figured if you came, (sans clan) you could stay on one of the pullouts.

2) if everyone in the lodge works for everyone who will be staying there, all you'd need to do is call the Top o the Caves people - I spoke to Mary - and tell them the Schrand group wants to cancel the Hickory reservation.

3) you'll have to check with Tango and/or Shizzle to see what Shizzle's plans are for the week. I was figuring she could stay with us (in the Acorn) if she wanted to.

4) don't worry about the money - I'll let everyone know when I need it.

ok, you're in charge now Sis - (not asking so much as tellin') I've got a trial in a week and a half and don't have time to work on this right now.

Good Luck.

BoPeep: Whichever young un's come will either stay in the Acorn or in the camper. So no space in the Lodge will be needed. There is every level of camping on site, from primitive to full hookups, so we may pull our camper. It sleeps 6, so maybe the older girls could crash there. Or woodbutcher could pull their rig or whatever.

So where is everybody?

I haven't heard back from momitor yet, but I will take it from there, no problem (now that all the real work is done!) Good luck with the paying job these next few weeks. We'll try to keep the blog going while you are preoccupied. I'm looking forward to the August trip.
