Will the next cat herder please stand up?
Okay, I got a response from the final reluctant cat, and he's in with the Thursday to Sunday crowd. So, who wants to find a place for all of us to stay? We have one group of week-long stayers (Mom & Dad + Tango & T-flo + Rider X & Lil Lotto + Shizzle & guest). I think I speak for the weeklongers when I say we'd prefer a Sunday 8/24 to Sunday 8/31 place. But, since my cat herding skills failed me insofar as I failed to ask how many kids everyone was planning on bringing, I don't know how big a house (or houses) the Thursday to Sunday group(s) need(s). I found a house at this place that seems to be available, (specifically, I liked the Hillside Lodge given the fact that it has 4 queen bedrooms) BUT, it's apparently a ways away from even the other Valley View Cabins, which may or may not be near each other. Since it seems to me that the 2 (or more) houses (i.e., the weeklongers and weekenders) should be close to each other if at all possible, it'd be kinda hard for 2 or more people to be separately trying to get lodging. So, any volunteers? Please? Pretty please?

We'll be bringing both kiddos. Do you know if T and T's other kiddos are coming? I'm kicking around the idea of coming down for the whole week, just me, with the other mumbys coming along later, so I'm wondering if a couch might be available in the "long house" for the early part of the week. It's just a thought right now, though.

Your honor, would you please direct the witness to answer the question: Are you or are you not willing to volunteer as head cat herder for phase 2 of this undertaking?
Wait, strike that, the penalty for a non-responsive answer such as yours is that you are automatically deemed "in charge of" phase 2, namely coordinating lodging that makes sense and that makes everyone reasonably happy. Now go out there and earn that BoPeep handle!

So, the whole kid thing. Not positive about mine - J is always a question mark at best, but come or stay, I don't see the whole week in her future. Haven't gotten the final word from B on duration, and I ain't spoke to Shizzle but perhaps she'll not want to be stuck for a whole week with us oldsters in the middle of nowhere. Maybe a house for them and a house for the grups? Spitballing here.
And Bopeep, the only one speculating about lost sheep wasn't me, but now inquiring minds want to know what book caused this response. Portnoy's Complaint? Ulysses? The Kama Sutra? Mein Kampf? Inquiring Minds Want To Know. And good luck with the scheduling.
Wait just one cotton-pickin minute! Don't you think someone who demonstrated interest, drive, and technical know-how should take on Phase 2? I have a vivid memory of both Baker44 and Lil Lotto offering ample evidence of all three at the Holiday gathering. I decline the nomination and nominate either or both of these capable women. And Tango, I think Shizzle already indicated a whole week plan, with her young man, in a comment awhile ago. She didn't seem too concerned about being stuck with the oldsters. As for the book, I don't remember anymore. Sorry!
