I'm back jack....

Ok, so here goes. First of all thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday-it was awesome and I'm still milking it for all its worth :). As for the new job, I'm finally on my regular schedule (well as regular as its going to be) and I think its gonna be great! As I had mentioned in a previous post I now work with an amazing conpany called RSI, which stands for Residential Services Inc. The company basically does houseing for developmentally disabled adults. They have a nursing home, ICF homes (which provide more care for the individuals living in them; wheel chairs etc.), Apartments, and SL houses which I work in. I cannot for the life of me remember what these stand for (the ICF and SL), but basically all the individuals I work with have jobs and pretty busy lifes, I just sort of help lead them, rather teach them. I work in a house with six residents who range from age 20 to 41. I work about 70 hours a week because I sleep at the house half the time. Its tough but i'm starting to get into the flow. I do everything at my job! I cook, clean, play games, watch tv, go to sporting events, movies, parks, concerts, you name it I do it! If our clients do it we do it, but we're getting paid to do it. Don't get me wrong its tough and the amount of training I have to do is getting tiring, for example: I have taken 2 orientation classes(total of 14 hours), a driving class (we drive big vans)(3 hours+ driving test), a med class (6 hours), CPR and First Aid(6 hours), and I have yet to take a really interesting class where we learn certian holds in case our residents try to hurt us, themselves, or anyone else (which is 14 hours all on its own). Anyway I feel like I'm not very clear but thats all I got folks! Its awesome, and I like it - way better than the Pump It Up! WOOHOO!!!!

Hey, Shizzle! Welcome back! Glad to hear you like the new job. Don't forget to take advantage of the local library, by the way. We get lots of visits from people with all manner of disabilities, and it's a great way to kill some time. So, when will they teach you the special hold for out-of-control people who are bigger than you?
